Back at 9: Machadoxleao relives his childhood in an NFT drop on Niftify
Brazilian digital artist (who has ventured into the crypto art market since 2021) is turning 32 at the end of April but has already advanced his birthday drop.
Machado Leão says he “tells stories through art” and this time he delved into his own childhood to bring to life a series of 5 arts that are based on a story he created when he was 9 years old. The “Tales from the Last Earth” portrays the adventures of a young man through galaxies and magical worlds that have been taken over by evil machines. Along his endless journey he meets several friends. The final destination is the Invisible Palace where the Princess of Royal Liberty lives. “Thank you Niftify for agreeing to release a very important part of my life! Many artists end up forgetting their artistic roots because they don’t know how significant it is. We need more people who care about these details”.
“The Gate” was the first artwork I created for this collection. My friend Gabriel told me that it is one of his favorite blue art because it looks like the cover of a fantasy book and I agree with him, in fact it reminds me of “The Neverending Story. I confess that it was not easy to start a collection with a cool color art. I don’t do art like that, my work is hot because I believe it causes some reaction in people. Once again I bring a swirl effect that I learned from my friend Stefan Frick, I’ve been using this effect a lot in my creations.
I can say that this art mixes two temporal phases. I feel like I brought what I was into what I’m doing today. It’s weird to think about it, but I know what I mean. Rocks floating over the heads of the little people I use in my art have become commonplace and many people say it’s something directly connected to The Sims game. Maybe I’m representing the medieval era of the game with these stones lol but the truth is that these stones represent the weight of our thoughts.
